What is the College Success Skills course all about?
The College Success Skills course (CSS 100) teaches the basic study skills and personal development tools necessary for college student success. It is a 2 credit transfer course that is offered in three different instructional formats.
Topics covered generally include:
- Transitioning to college
- Time management
- Memory improvement
- Textbook reading techniques
- Motivation
- Libraries and Information Resources
- Effective note taking
- Test taking
- Critical thinking
- Effective communication
- Basic finances
- Relationships
- Diversity
- Health

Hybrid Course
This option is recommended for students who prefer to learn college study skills
from the comfort of their home with only five
course meetings each semester.
Traditional Classroom Lecture
This option is recommended for students who prefer to have face-to-face instruction,
to get questions answered immediately, and to meet other students.
This class meets twice per week.
Online Course
This option is currently available during the summer over eight weeks. All course activites are conducted online. Please click the link above for more information.
