Earth Week 2014
A Billion Acts of Green...Green Cities
Spread the global movement to create more sustainable, resilient cities. Take the LLCC “Lights Out” Challenge. We are challenging faculty, staff and students to turn off the lights, the computer, the television or whatever is plugged in between 8:30 and 9:30 p.m. on Earth Day, April 22, 2014. Putting Small Acres to Work

Putting a few extra acres to work can bring in additional income, provide an opportunity to experiment with a new enterprise, or develop an interest or hobby for its educational or entertainment value.  How to get started is the question. This workshop will help cultivate ideas on how to develop and manage a small farm entity.

This workshop will run in conjunction with the Illinois Small Fruit, Strawberry and Vegetable School on February 11 and 12.  By combining these two programs, beginning growers will benefit by meeting and talking with commercial growers, as well as giving them access to research-based information on fruit and vegetable production.
