Recent Lincoln Land Community College graduates Connor Carnduff of Springfield and Brett Davis of Auburn were honored with the annual Outstanding Community College Student Geography Award from the Illinois Geographical Society.

The award recognizes students from two-year colleges who have excelled in geography classes within the past year. The winning students received a financial award and recognition at the Illinois Geographical Society Annual Meeting and Awards Ceremony held late last month.

This fall, Mr. Carnduff will transfer to the University of Missouri-St. Louis with a major in international business and minor in geography. He will also play on the university soccer team, after two years on the LLCC team.

Mr. Davis will transfer to Ball State University this fall and major in geography, focusing on geographic information systems.

The two were nominated for the honor by Dean Butzow, LLCC professor of geography.
