LLCC Trutter Museum sponsors new “1st Thursday Speakers Series”
Local experts present topics in cultural diversity and current issues
The Lincoln Land Community College Philip and Mary Kathryn Trutter Museum is sponsoring the “1st Thursday Speakers Series” this spring featuring local experts on topics that explore cultural diversity and current issues. Programs are scheduled the first Thursday of March and April from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and are being held at the Trutter Center on LLCC’s Springfield campus, 5250 Shepherd Road.
Thursday, April 5: “Around the World in 90 minutes, Part I” – Featured speakers will share their favorite world locations through interesting, descriptive presentations. Topics and speakers include: “The Chachi Indians of the Ecuadorian Rainforest” by Jonathan Reyman, Ph.D., curator of anthropology, Illinois State Museum; “The Australian Outback” by G. Dennis Campbell, Ph.D., professor of biology and earth sciences at Lincoln College; and “Favorite Places in Europe” by Chris McDonald, Ph.D., professor of political science at Lincoln Land Community College.
