SPRINGFIELD–The Fire Service Instructor I course (FST 218) at Lincoln Land Community College is now available online. The course begins Monday, July 6 and ends Friday, Aug. 28. Registrations are being accepted through Wednesday, July 8.
Fire service professionals may take the course to become certified by the Illinois Office of the State Fire Marshal as an Instructor I. Those eligible to be certified by the state must be a certified firefighter to obtain the instructor certification. Although there are no prerequisites for the course, it is preferred that students have taken the LLCC’s Certified Firefighter Training II courses or be a Certified Firefighter II. The Fire Service Instructor course is also recognized as one of the courses in the State Fire Marshal’s Officer I series.
