LLCC Foundation Gala Sat., April 28

Make reservations to attend “As Time Goes By,” the 40th anniversary gala presented by the Lincoln Land Community College Foundation.  All proceeds from the event will go to support student learning initiatives at the college.  Please stop by the Foundation or call 786-2785 to reserve your tickets.

The event will feature delicious hors d’oeuvres and dinner prepared by LLCC Culinary Arts and beautiful music presented by LLCC’s Stolen Moments Jazz Band, Choir and Big Band.

An incredible silent auction is planned with more than 25 “packages” including:

  • A “Cozy Up at Home” package featuring a handmade afghan, DVDs and CDs
  • A children’s playhouse built by students at LLCC’s Eastern Region Education Center
  • A wine basket from “In Good Taste” in Taylorville
  • A “Chicago Package” featuring 4 tickets to see the Cubs vs. Atlanta Braves on June 2, Ryan O’Malley and Aramis Ramirez autographed memorabilia and a two night stay at either the Westin, Sheraton
  • St. Louis Cardinal tickets and an overnight stay
  • The Abe Lincoln package featuring an original piece of artwork by Annette Johnson, “Honest to Goodness” cookbook, a private tour of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum and a gift shop gift certificate
  • “It’s All About You” package featuring gift certificates from The Gallery and BJ Grand Salon, jewelry from Anderson Jewelers and The Wardrobe and a purse from The Top Drawer
  • $1,000 advertising package from Capitol Radio Group
  • Technology package featuring a Palm Pilot and a Dell 260 computer with monitor
  • Two golf packages with items including an autographed photo of George Lopez, golf clothing, and a golf storage unit built by EREC students
  • And, a week’s stay at a Scottsdale, Arizona condo and a $150 airline voucher!

Other fundraisers within the gala include The Jamie’s The Diamond Mine Treasure Box.  Gala guests will purchase a key for $5 in hopes of opening the box containing an Italian gold bracelet valued at nearly $1,100.  Guests may also participate in the Wall of Wines by purchasing a $10 ticket and select a bottle of wine valued between $10 and $300.  Wine wall participants also have a chance to win a two night stay at Cabin on the Hill in the middle of southern Illinois wine country near Carbondale.

The event will begin in the Helen Hamilton Outdoor Learning area with a cocktail hour at 6 p.m. Dinner will follow at 7 p.m. in Menard Hall.  Cost is $100 per person which includes valet parking, hors d’oeuvres and dinner, complimentary wine and a champagne toast.

All funds raised from the event will support student learning providing for scholarship assistance, state-of-the-art learning materials and technology, specialized equipment for special needs students or expanded campus facilities.
