LLCC’s Capital City Center offering workshop to provide solutions for working with challenging youth

Veteran trainer and author Ruth Herman Wells will lead workshop

SPRINGFIELD–Lincoln Land Community College’s Capital City Center is offering “The Breakthrough Strategies to Teach and Counsel Youth Workshop” on June 13 and 14 at the Northfield Inn and Suites, 3280 Northfield Drive, Springfield. The workshop presenter is Ruth Herman Wells, MS, veteran trainer and author.

The workshop, which meets Wednesday, June 13 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Thursday, June 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., will provide solutions for working with challenging youth. The workshop delivers the fastest and best strategies to turn around defiant, aggressive, withdrawn, truant, delinquent, attention deficit disorder and special education youth. The methods Wells presents are practical, powerful, state-of-the-art solutions for dealing with difficult youth. Participants also will learn to identify key student problem areas in regard to coping skills, school skills and social skills.

Ruth Herman Wells is the author of several series of books, including the popular “All The Best Answers for the Worst Kid Problems” series. She is a veteran trainer who annually trains thousands of teachers, counselors, social workers and foster parents. Her work has been featured in many national publications. Ruth is known for attention-grabbing interventions to turn around troubled and problem students. Her specialty is providing solutions when “nothing works.” Ruth’s workshops are lively and include unusual and fun class activities. Ruth can truly make working with difficult students less difficult.
