SPRINGFIELD, May 14, 2007 – The Lincoln Land Community College Board of Trustees, at a special meeting today, declared a Board vacancy representing Trustee Sub-district 4, which includes parts of Christian, Eastern Sangamon, Logan, DeWitt and Macon Counties.  The vacancy was declared when elected candidate Andy Goleman was not present to take the oath of office. 

The Board now has 60 days in which to appoint someone to fill the vacancy and is seeking interested candidates.  All persons from Sub-district 4 who wish to be considered for the vacancy should express their interest in writing to the Secretary of the Board of Trustees. Candidates for the vacancy should address the following in the written materials submitted:

·         Reason for seeking the appointment;

·         How the individual’s qualifications will add to the composition of the Board in fulfilling its responsibilities to the District’s citizens;

·         Experience in other areas which may enhance public policy or decision-making.

Applications should be received by Tuesday, June 5, and addressed to Dr. Gordon Smith, Secretary, LLCC Board of Trustees, 5250 Shepherd Road, P.O. Box 19256, Springfield, Illinois 62794-9256.
