SPRINGFIELD–The Illinois Small Business Development Center at Lincoln Land Community College is offering a grant writing workshop, “Developing Grant Writing Skills,” on Tuesday, Aug. 14 from 6 to 8 p.m.  The workshop will be held at LLCC’s East Springfield Learning Center, 1507 E. Cook St., Springfield.

The workshop provides a comprehensive study of the grant writing process.  Participants will gain insight on the importance of proposal drafts, critiquing proposals for strengths and weaknesses, as well as learning how to write a variety of grants.  Participants will learn the basics of grant writing, how to complete the grant process from start to finish and the difference in writing a private versus public grant proposal.  In addition, participants will learn how to effectively manage grant programs, write and conduct a program evaluation, find out why their organization’s mission statement is crucial to the grant proposal, and learn about the 50 largest giving foundations in the nation and in Illinois.

There is no cost for the workshop.  To register, contact the Illinois Small Business Development Center at LLCC, 544-SBDC (7232).
