Citizen preparation workshop offered
|
A citizenship preparation workshop is being offered through Lincoln Land Community College’s Training and Education for Adult Learners (TEAL) program in Springfield this December. Topics covered during this workshop include the application process and the civics information needed to pass the interview. This workshop will be available free of charge on LLCC’s Springfield campus, 5250 Shepherd Road.
The workshop content concentrates on the information needed to successfully pass the USCIS (United States Citizenship and Immigration Service) interview rather than on repetitive practice of the English skills needed for the interview. Because of the focus on content, this workshop is open to individuals who have intermediate or higher skill levels in English.
The workshop will begin Friday, Dec. 8 from 6 to 8 p.m. and continue on Saturday, Dec. 9 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Students must pre-register for the workshop.
For more information about citizenship classes, English as a Second Language (ESL) classes, or to make a registration appointment, call LLCC’s TEAL office at 786.2349 or 1.800.666.8325. | Posted on Monday, November 20, 2006
