LLCC offering special scholarships to current high school students Students can take up to four credit hours this spring or summer with no tuition charge Oct. 23, 2007 SPRINGFIELD – High school students in the Lincoln Land Community College District are invited to apply for Special Admissions Scholarships that will pay for up to four credit hours of tuition for college classes at Lincoln Land during the 2008 spring and summer terms. “High school students aged 16 and older from the Lincoln Land district can take any transfer or occupational courses, up to four credit hours, with no tuition charge,” said LLCC Admissions Director Ron Gregoire. “It’s a great opportunity to get a jump-start on college.” These scholarships, funded through a state grant, are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis until scholarship funds are depleted. The scholarships are available for classes taught at all LLCC locations including the main campus in Springfield, the East Springfield Learning Center, Eastern Region Education Center in Taylorville, Western Region Education Center in Jacksonville and Beardstown, and Southern Region Education Center in Litchfield and Hillsboro. Informational brochures and applications for the Special Admissions Scholarships are available from high school guidance counselors, at the LLCC main campus, East Springfield Learning Center or at LLCC Regional Education Centers. High school students should first be admitted and register for the course of their choice at Lincoln Land before applying for the special scholarships. Registration for spring classes begins October 31, but admission and placement testing (if required) can begin immediately, according to Mr. Gregoire.
