JACKSONVILLE – The public is invited to view some 1,000 artworks by students in grades kindergarten through three and 10 through 12 from Morgan, Cass, Scott and Brown Counties at a Student Art Show Friday evening, Nov. 2 at Lincoln Land Community College’s Western Region Education Center in downtown Jacksonville. The Center will be the site of a Campus Visit Day event the following afternoon.
The Friday evening Student Art Show, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., is part of the Downtown Gallery Hop sponsored by the Imagine Foundation. Student artwork will also be displayed at Jacksonville Art Glass downtown.
“Students from every public and private school in the four counties were invited to participate in the show,” said Jan Terry, executive director of LLCC’s Western Region Education Center. “We believe the arts are a vital part of becoming a well-rounded person. We’re thrilled to provide a venue for these budding artists to display their masterpieces.”
Students in grades four through nine will be invited to participate in a spring art show at the Center.
The following day, Saturday, Nov. 3, LLCC’s Western Region Education Center in Jacksonville and Beardstown will be open from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. for a Campus Visit Day event.
