Meet these successful alumni who chose to Start Smart at LLCC:
BRIAN POWELL, M.D.-2007 Outstanding Cardiology Fellow, Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minn.
-Completed a three-year residency and four-year cardiology fellowship at Mayo Clinic, now on staff there
-Specializing in Electrophysiology (treatment of heart rhythm disorders) and Cardiovascular Diseases
-Recently spoke in France and Washington, D.C. on a new procedure using ultrasound of the heart to determine which patients may benefit from specialized pacemakers that resynchronize heart contractions for treatment of congestive heart failure
-Graduate of LLCC, Carson Newman College, SIU School of Medicine

It also allowed me to be part of the Springfield theatre community where I really discovered my passion for musical theatre.
