SPRINGFIELD–Lincoln Land Community College’s Student Life Office and the Multicultural Awareness Center are sponsoring a “Faces of Homelessness” panel Wednesday, Nov. 28 at 1 p.m.  The event will take place in the Student Union of Menard Hall on LLCC’s main campus at 5250 Shepherd Road, Springfield.  The public is invited to this free event.

The purpose of the panel is to dispel myths and stereotypes surrounding homelessness and give a face to the issue.  Panelists who are currently experiencing or have experienced homelessness will share their stories and their perspectives on solutions to homelessness.  Mary Beth Ray, LLCC director of career development services and adjunct faculty member, will serve as moderator.  The Homeless United for Change organization assisted in obtaining panelists for the event.

For more information, contact the LLCC Student Life Office at 786.2241 or the Multicultural Awareness Center at 786.2458.
