Contact: Lynn Whalen, 217.786.2219 lynn.whalen@llcc.edu The Lincoln Land Community College Feminist Activist Coalition will sponsor a production of Eve Ensler’s “The Vagina Monologues” Feb. 15 and 16 as part of the V-Day College Campaign to raise awareness of violence against women and girls around the world. The production will be staged at 7:00 p.m. in the Trutter Center on the LLCC main campus. All proceeds will benefit the V-Day campaign as well as PORA (Positive Options, Referrals and Alternatives) of Springfield. Admission is $8 in advance and $10 at the door. Advance tickets are on sale in the LLCC Business Office (phone 217.786.2762). A silent auction of art and other items will be held each evening. A highlight of the production will be the monologue "Welcome to the Wetlands," based on women’s struggles after Hurricane Katrina. This year’s Monologues production is directed by Deborah Brothers, Ph.D., LLCC professor of English, and Jessica Bishop.
