LLCC to host Education Career Day Feb. 26

SPRINGFIELD—Lincoln Land Community College is hosting its eighth annual Education Career Day Tuesday, Feb. 26 from 9 a.m. until noon. The event will be held in the Robert H. Stephens Room located in Menard Hall on LLCC’s main campus, 5250 Shepherd Road, Springfield. The public is invited to attend.
Students and community members interested in education as a career, including individuals who already have a bachelor’s degree, are encouraged to attend the event. The event provides participants the opportunity to compare programs, obtain in-depth information and ask questions of representatives from various four-year institutions.
Fourteen senior institutions with teacher education/training programs will participate in the event. They include: Blackburn College, Eastern Illinois University, Illinois College, Illinois State University, MacMurray College, Millikin University, Quincy University, Springfield College in Illinois/Benedictine University, Southern Illinois University-Carbondale, Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville, University of Illinois-Springfield, University of Illinois-Urbana/Champaign and Western Illinois University. In addition, representatives from Sangamon Area Special Education District will be on hand at the event. Several institutions will be available to meet with individuals after the formal session is completed.
The first 100 individuals to attend will receive a free T-shirt designed by an LLCC art student. For more information, contact John Noak, Ed.D., LLCC education outreach coordinator, at 786.9101.
