Free U.S. citizenship class series begins Jan. 13 at Lincoln Land Community College

 

SPRINGFIELD – Persons interested in applying for U.S. citizenship are invited to attend a free series of Saturday morning citizenship classes at Lincoln Land Community College. The series begins on Jan. 13, 2007 on the LLCC main campus, 5250 Shepherd Road.  Classes meet from 9:00 a.m. to noon for eight consecutive weeks through March 3. 

 

Participants will learn about citizenship eligibility and the application process. Information about the history of the U.S., the Constitution and U.S. government will also be provided.  Students will have the opportunity throughout the course to practice the English needed during the citizenship interview.

 

The class is open to individuals with beginning to advanced English skills.  To register or for more information about citizenship or English as a Second Language classes, call the Training and Education for Adult Learners (TEAL) office at LLCC at 786.2349 or 800.666.8325 (TEAL).
