Registration now under way for spring semester

Registration for spring semester classes at Lincoln Land Community College is under way. The semester begins with Saturday classes on January 13 and weekday classes on January 16.

Current students are invited to register online at www.llcc.edu via WebAdvisor. New students should first apply for admission online at www.llcc.edu or in person on the main campus at 5250 Shepherd Road in Springfield, the East Springfield Learning Center, or one of the College’s convenient regional education centers in Jacksonville, Beardstown, Taylorville, Litchfield or Hillsboro.

The LLCC magazine “Forward,” containing the complete schedule of spring classes, was mailed to all households in the 15-county Lincoln Land District. The class schedule may also be read online at www.llcc.edu or obtained at any LLCC facility.

Lincoln Land offers on campus, online and “hybrid” courses, which combine online and in-class instruction. In addition, “short semester” accelerated classes, which meet for 12 weeks instead of the usual 16, begin in mid-February.

All credit classes can be applied toward certificates and/or associate degrees which transfer to four-year colleges and universities. In addition, individuals can take classes to upgrade their current work skills or to earn technical or career certificates. Senior citizens age 65 and older may enroll in any LLCC credit class tuition-free. High school and home-schooled students, as well as students attending other colleges and universities, can earn college credits by taking classes at Lincoln Land. Dual credit classes are available for students attending participating high schools who wish to earn high school and college credit concurrently.

Tuition and fees for residents of the LLCC district are $72 per credit hour. Financial aid is available for those who qualify and LLCC offers an installment payment plan. In addition, Special Admissions Scholarships for free spring classes, up to six credit hours, are being offered to high school students. Applications are available from high school counselors throughout the Lincoln Land district and at all LLCC locations.

Early class registration is strongly encouraged to ensure placement in classes.

In addition to the main Springfield campus, registration may also be completed at the East Springfield Learning Center (1507 East Cook, 522.9205) and LLCC Regional Centers in Jacksonville (32 North Central Park Plaza, 243.6699; 888.494.1622), Beardstown (109 White Pine Lane, 323.4103; 877.800.4406), Taylorville (800 South Spresser, 287.7081; 800.572.5448), Litchfield (1 Lincoln Land Drive, 324.2090; 800.858.9193) and Hillsboro (532.2040;800.858.9193).
