TAYLORVILLE — Lincoln Land Community College’s Eastern Region Education Center hosted Lincoln Land Night during the Nokomis/Virden basketball game at Nokomis High School Dec. 8. Lincoln Land Nights celebrate the partnership LLCC has with area high schools. Nokomis High School participates in LLCC’s dual-credit program in which students can earn high school and college credit simultaneously. As part of the halftime activities, two attendees were selected to participate in a free throw competition. Bill Johnson won a $200 gas card, while Shelly Hill was awarded the consolation prize of a $100 gas card. LLCC’s EREC is also celebrating dual-credit partnerships this academic year with Rochester, Taylorville, South Fork and Edinburg high schools.
