FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Date: January 31, 2007 Contact: Diane Buzick, 786.4508 or diane.buzick@llcc.edu TAYLORVILLE — Lincoln Land Community College’s Eastern Region Education Center hosted Lincoln Land Night during the South Fork/Pawnee basketball game at South Fork High School Jan. 26. Lincoln Land Nights celebrate the partnership LLCC has with area high schools. South Fork High School participates in LLCC’s dual credit program in which students can earn high school and college credit simultaneously. SFHS students also participate in the PACT (Professional Accelerated Career Training) and HEAT (Higher Education Academic Transfer) programs. As part of the halftime activities, two attendees were selected to participate in a free throw competition. Ron Ess won a $200 gas card, while Debbie Ferarri was awarded the consolation prize of a $100 gas card. LLCC’s EREC is also celebrating dual-credit partnerships this academic year with Nokomis, Taylorville, Rochester and Edinburg high schools.
