LLCC Student Life Office to sponsor forums for LLCC Board of Trustee candidates
SPRINGFIELD – The public is invited to Candidate Forums next week to hear from candidates running for the two seats available on the Lincoln Land Community College District #526 Board of Trustees. The forums are sponsored by the LLCC Student Life Office.
The first forum, involving candidates in Sub-district 4, will be held Tuesday, April 10 at 6:00 p.m. at the LLCC Eastern Region Education Center (EREC), 800 South Spresser in Taylorville. Candidates running for the trustee position are Andy Goleman of Divernon and Richard Wilson of Taylorville. Moderator for the forum will be Tyrone Pickens, a construction occupations student at the EREC. Sub-district 4 includes parts of Logan, Eastern Sangamon, Christian, DeWitt and Macon counties.
The second forum, involving candidates in Sub-district 2, will be Thursday, April 12, at 5:30 p.m. in the Robert H. Stephens Room of Menard Hall on the LLCC Springfield campus, 5250 Shepherd Road. Trustee candidates in that sub-district are William R. Earl II and Cinda Edwards, both of Springfield. Moderator for the forum will be Jeff Conkey, vice president of the LLCC Student Government Association. Sub-district 2 includes South-Central and Eastern Springfield.
The election is April 17 with the winners serving two-year terms on the LLCC Board of Trustees.
