LLCC offers free classes to high school students this summer

High school students age 16 and older who have not yet graduated may take classes tuition-free this summer at Lincoln Land Community College.

Students may take up to six credit hours at no tuition charge, according to LLCC Director of Admissions Ron Gregoire.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for high school students to earn college credit,” says Gregoire.  “They can choose from classes in any academic or technical field we offer.”

These special admissions scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.  Students must first register for the class or classes they prefer and then apply for the scholarships.

Brochures and applications have been mailed to all high schools and LLCC regional education centers in the LLCC district.

Registration for summer (and fall) classes at Lincoln Land begins April 25.

Requirements are:

-The student must be fully registered for a summer 2007 course prior to submitting the scholarship application.

-Any student 16 years and older enrolled in high school for the 2007-2008 school year is eligible.

-2007 high school graduates are not eligible.

More information on tuition-free summer classes for high school students is available from high school guidance offices or by calling LLCC Admissions at 786.2298 or LLCC regional centers in Jacksonville, Beardstown, Taylorville and Litchfield.
