Lincoln Land Community College is seeking applicants for a full-time, tenure track faculty position in Human Anatomy & Physiology and Biology beginning fall semester of 2012. LLCC is seeking innovative instructors who place student success and student learning as top priorities. The college is particularly interested in applicants who demonstrate an interest in active learning approaches and student assessment techniques, utilize technology to enhance and improve student learning and have a strong commitment to departmental, institutional, and community service. Duties will include teaching 15 contact hours per semester, which may include teaching during evening or weekend hours and/or at our other campus locations. Some opportunities exist for overload and summer teaching assignments. The Math and Sciences Department consists of 29 full-time faculty and a Lab Safety Coordinator. The department includes the areas of Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Geography, Geology, Mathematics and Physics.
The minimum requirement for this position is a master’s degree in biology or a health related area. Additionally, graduate coursework equipping applicants with the educational background necessary for teaching human anatomy and physiology and introductory biology courses is also required. Candidates possessing successful teaching experience (ideally face-to-face and online), especially at a community college, as well as strong coursework in microbiology, will receive extra consideration. Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check and drug-screen.
Starting salary is determined by education level and experience and will be between $40,003 and $67,432.
