An English degree is versatile, offering a variety of potential career paths. LLCC’s English program provides students with creative writing, critical analysis, advanced reading and communication skills. Students with an English degree may consider working as an author, copywriter, editor, freelance writer, marketing communications manager, teacher/professor, technical writer, web content writer, plus many others.
Job Outlook
Due to the versatility of careers with an English degree, job potential and salaries vary greatly. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, some careers will be competitive while others will show average or above average growth through 2024. In May 2016, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, reported that the annual median salary for editors was $57,210, authors was $61,240, technical writers was $69,850 and college professors was $75,430.

Investment in Your Future
For the 2018-2019 academic year, tuition for English courses run the standard in-district tuition rate of $129.50 per credit hour. Fees are $11 per credit hour. Get more information on tuition and fees.
