Melinda Pitt Kaye holds a Bachelor of Music from Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois, where she majored in music education and vocal performance. She completed graduate work at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, majoring in voice performance and also earned a Master of Arts in community arts management from the University of Illinois at Springfield.
For the past 12 years, Ms. Kaye has taught classes, music in America, music appreciation, music fundamentals and exploring the fine arts in addition to teaching private voice at Lincoln Land Community College. Ms. Kaye directed the chorus at University of Illinois at Springfield from 2010-2012.
Her performance experience includes soloist at Temple B’rith Sholom and the First Church of Christ, Scientist. In addition to teaching, Ms. Kaye has directed and produced numerous musical productions, including Nine, Romance, Romance, The World Goes ‘Round. She has served as vocal director for Sweeny Todd, Cabaret and LLCC’s The Fantasticks.
