Sue Hamilton received her Master’s Degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Denver (Colorado). While in Denver, she was a frequent soloist with the Denver Symphony Orchestra. She performed professionally as a member of Actor’s Equity in Colorado and Kentucky. She sang professionally in New York City before returning to Springfield. Sue has been the vocal director for many productions, including the Muni’s production of Children of Eden, and Springfield Theatre Center’s Into the Woods. At the Hoogland she was the vocal director for Over the Moon Productions of Sunday in the Park with George, Cats, Camelot, and I Do, I Do. She was the vocal director for OTM’s The Light in the Piazza held at Theatre in the Park. This past December she composed musical motifs for “Christmas Carol,” an adaption of the Dickens classic by Mark Hardiman from Lincoln Land Community College. This summer she presented a Road Scholar choral workshop through LLCC entitled “Singing in the Heart of America.” Participants came form across the United States and Canada. Sue is the vocal director form the Lincoln Troubadours at the Old State Capitol. An active singer, she continues to sing with the Springfield Choral Society. She is an Adjunct Instructor of Music at LLCC where she teaches Private Applied Voice, Music Appreciation, Madrigals and Concert Choir.
