Computer and Office Systems Internship
Students enrolled in the Office Professional (formerly Administrative Office Assistant) Associate in Applied Science Degree program are required to complete an internship. Students enrolled in the Office Professional with medical office specialization will need to complete an internship in a medical office.
You generally complete your internship in one of the last two semesters of your course work, when the majority of your CAS and COS courses have been completed.
You will need to contact your internship coordinator, Christie Hovey, towards the start of the semester before you plan to complete your internship to arrange for a face-to-face meeting. For example, if you plan to complete your internship in the spring semester, you would want to meet with Christie in September or early October. Locating an internship site can take up to one full semester.

- Benefit from working with real-life situations in established local businesses, government offices, or various college offices on campus.
- Be able to make a contribution to the employer from the knowledge and skills learned in college.
- Be able to preview local employers and determine if selected career goals are appropriate.
