Qualified applicants (those who have met all admission criteria from the RAD checklist) will be placed in rank order based on the number of points received in the evaluation. Applicants’ points will be evaluated at the time of application only; point total will not be recalculated once the application is submitted. A maximum point total of 12.5.
Points will be awarded based on:
1. GPA on a 4 point scale (ex: GPA of 3.25 will get 3.25 points). Maximum points = 4
2. ACT scores. Maximum points = 4
30 – 36 = 4 pts
25 – 29 = 3 pts
21 – 24 = 2 pts
20 = 1 pt
Associate degree = 3 pts
Bachelor degree or higher = 4 pts
3. Prior academic achievement: Maximum Points = 2.25
a. Certified Nursing Assistant = .50 pts
b. EMT – Basic = .25 pts
c. EMT – Paramedic = .50 pts
d. Military corpsman/medic = .50 pts
e. One College Level Math class = .25 pts
f. Two or more College Level Math = .50 pts
g. General Education Courses = .75 pts (EGL 101 & 102, HLT 109, BIO 175 & 176 with grade “C” or better)
4. Previous application to the RAD program. The first application = .50 points, second application and beyond 1 point. A Maximum Points = 1.
Applicants with the same number of points will be selected at random for available seats.
Applicants will be notified by E-mail and US mail from the Radiography office if they are selected for admission. It is imperative for the applicant to maintain accurate contact information through the office of admissions.
If all seats are filled for the current admissions cycle, students who wish to re-apply must meet with a Health Professions Advisor to fill out an application and inform that Advisor of any changes that may increase awarded points.
