If protecting public safety and making a difference are important to you, check out LLCC’s criminal justice program. It prepares students to enter an exciting career path that offers a variety of job options. Due to the nature of the field, jobs are always available — locally and in every state. Jobs can be found at the city, county, federal and state levels, in addition to the private sector.
Criminal justice jobs include canine, conservation or correctional officer; crime scene investigator; detective; federal agent; highway patrol, parole, police or probation officer; sheriff deputy; transportation security and many more. Read more in our downloadable LLCC Criminal Justice brochure.
Job Outlook
Employment opportunities for police and sheriff’s patrol officers are expected to grow 5 percent from 2014 to 2024. The U.S. Department of Labor expects approximately 258,400 job openings due to growth and replacement needs. The 2016 median annual wage in this occupation was $59,680.

Investment in Your Future
Criminal justice (CRJ) courses have a standard tuition rate. For the 2018-2019 academic year, CRJ courses have an in-district rate of $129.50 per credit hour. Fees are $11 per credit hour. Get more information on tuition and fees.
