SPRINGFIELD – Lincoln Land Community College (LLCC) Theatre will hold evening auditions Monday, Jan. 30 and Tuesday, Jan. 31 for the existential masterpiece, Samuel Beckett’s “Waiting for Godot.”
Auditions will begin at 7 p.m. in Sangamon Hall South room 0009 (the former auto shop) on the LLCC campus. Persons unable to audition those evenings should email mark.hardiman@llcc.edu to make other arrangements. Callbacks are Friday, Feb. 3 at 7 p.m. in the same location.
All roles are open in this all-male production; the cast includes four men and one boy. All ages will be considered for the four principal roles. Auditions will include reading from the script and movement exercises. Actors should come dressed comfortably.
“Waiting for Godot” will be staged April 13, 14, 20, 21 at 8 p.m. and 15 at 3 p.m. at Lincoln's New Salem State Historic Site Visitor's Center, and is presented in association with Theatre in the Park and the Lincoln League.
LLCC Theatre is committed to education in theatre, emphasizing not only performance but also growth in those involved in the production. Those cast in the show will register either for credit or through the non-credit, community education program.
