Discarded Memories is a series of digital images produced from found snapshots in which the photographer and subject are unknown. Discovered in second-hand stores, gathered from "lost and found" boxes, and spotted on the ground, these photos were never intended to be seen by strangers. The identities of the subjects as well as the context of the photos are lost. In this series, I focus my attention on text penned upon the reverse of the images. These notes are our only clues to deciphering the personal meaning and history of these subjects. What meanings are left for us? Can anything be discovered or decoded?
