Essential oils have been used in the Ayurveda and traditional Chinese medicine healing traditions for over 5,000 years. Part of this tradition includes the balancing of the seven energy centers, known as the chakras, integral to these healing modalities. The history of chakra theory will be explored to give the student a foundation for the purpose of chakra balancing. Each student will learn the seven basic chakras, their association with the body’s organs, emotional connections and attunement. Specific essential oils are associated with each chakra and students will learn which essential oils are chosen for each chakra. Students will be taught to create appropriate blends for the chakras. Students will also be taught how to apply these blends effectively for massage and other body/energy therapies.
- Understand the history of chakra theory and energetic awareness.
- Understand chakra system concepts and how they affect both physical (body organs) and emotional health (security, motivation, etc.).
- Gain a working knowledge of how to blend essential oils for use in chakra balancing as part of wellness therapy.
- Learn to apply essential oils via multiple modalities.
