WORKKEYS/NATIONAL CAREER READINESS CERTIFICATE
WorkKeys® is a skills assessment system that helps employers select, hire, train, develop, and retain a quality workforce. The assessments measure foundational and soft skills which are skills that employers feel are essential to success in the workplace. Students, job seekers, and seasoned professionals can use WorkKeys to learn more about their strengths and weaknesses and gain a valid way to demonstrate their abilities to employers. Educators and employers can use it to help take the guesswork out of determining student, applicant and employee qualifications.
Successful completion of WorkKeys assessments in Applied Mathematics, Locating Information and Reading for Information can lead to earning the National Career Readiness Certificate™ (NCRC®).
A National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) is a portable, skill-based certificate that complements credentials such as a high school diploma, industry certificate or college degree.
What is the benefit of earning a NCRC®?
The NCRC gives an employer additional insight into your qualifications. Earning the NCRC demonstrates your willingness and ability to prove the skills important to today’s workforce. The NCRC gives you a competitive edge whether you are applying for a job or working toward a promotion.
NCRC Assessment Prep
You can prepare for the National Career Readiness Certificate™ through an internet based system called KeyTrain. The KeyTrain system includes self-paced computer instruction, pre and post assessments, and an occupational job profile database. These components can be used to help you learn, practice and demonstrate the skills needed to succeed in your desired career.
