Lincoln Land Community College has designed a new workforce certificate program to prepare people for the increasing number of renewable energy careers available in the United States. This program provides students with an understanding of sustainable, clean energy from sources such as the sun, the wind and plants. Program courses include technology, bio-diesel fuels and geothermal systems.
About the program:
The intensive, 480-hour program addresses the skills necessary to pursue employment in related renewable energy fields by providing training in green and sustainable construction; construction tools, equipment, and safety; technical math; business communication and life skills; energy basics; renewable energy systems; solar thermal and PV installation and maintenance; small wind energy installation and maintenance; and geothermal energy basics.
Participants will gain:
- OSHA 10 certification
- The knowledge needed to take relevant and nationally recognized renewable energy certification exams
- An opportunity to be placed in a career with high wage-earning potential or to continue on and earn an associate degree from LLCC
