Irish Music Appreciation (Instructor: Declan Binninger)
Students will be introduced to the world of Irish music, focusing on the role that it has played in Irish history and culture as well as its development and popularization throughout the world. Students will also receive basic instruction on the tin whistle, an instrument that appears deceptively simple but that has served as a gateway for generations of Irish musicians. $10 supply fee payable to the instructor for a tin whistle.

Popular Chicago artist returns to help you explore the exciting world of painting designs on luxurious Habotai silk fabric. If you like beautiful colors, that’s all the artistic ability you need – the technique is remarkably simple to do. One lucky student will take home the one-of-a-kind demo scarf! Silk Painting Adventures & Techniques (Instructor: LLCC Staff)
Take home five finished scarves created by using three different silk-painting techniques: Transferring the dyes in art tissue to one Habotai silk scarf, using alcohol-based inks to create vibrant designs on two scarves, and experimenting with microwave marbling to create abstract designs on two additional Habotai silk scarves. Supply fee of $42 payable to instructor. Wear clothing appropriate for painting. Please bring a brown bag lunch
