Financial Aid

Students who need or are entitled to financial assistance for attending LLCC will find help in the LLCC Financial Aid office!

Financial aid assistance

The office is responsible for administering traditional federal and state financial aid programs including grants, loans and work-study. Students should apply for financial aid using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The LLCC Financial Aid office also administers programs benefiting many students including veterans, scholarship recipients, and students with disabilities. College Illinois is also administered by the LLCC Financial Aid Office.

Many programs administered by the LLCC Financial Aid office have limited funds. Students who apply early have a much better chance of obtaining all the assistance for which they might be eligible. Most federal and state programs require students to be enrolled in at least six credit hours per semester.

Please note: All correspondence from our office will be through email. If you would like to receive paper correspondence, please contact us at Financial.Aid@llcc.edu or 217-786-2237. Please contact us for additional information and application assistance!

On May 10, 2015, Department of Education implemented the FSA ID — a username and password — which has replaced the Federal Student Aid PIN and must be used to log in to certain U.S. Department of Education websites. Your FSA ID confirms your identity when you access your financial aid information and electronically sign Federal Student Aid documents. Create an FSA ID online. If you need help applying for an FSA ID or forgot your FSA ID, please utilize these tips for creating and using the FSA ID.

Watch out for student aid scams

Several websites offer help filling out the FAFSA form for a fee. These sites are not affiliated with or endorsed by the U.S. Department of Education. You can get free help from LLCC Financial Aid. Make an appointment by calling 217-786-2237 or emailing financial.aid@llcc.edu.
