Veteran Affairs

The Veterans' Affairs Office seeks to provide assistance to all student-veterans at Lincoln Land Community College.  Specifically, the office provides educational benefits for eligible student-veterans and their qualified family members enrolled at Lincoln Land Community College, including:

  • Student-veterans of the armed forces (Illinois residents and nonresidents)
  • Children and spouses or survivors of veterans whose deaths or permanent and total disabilities were service-connected in the armed forces.
  • Children of servicemen or servicewomen missing in action or held as prisoners of war for more than 90 days.
  • Students who are enlisted in and actively serving with the Illinois Army National Guard, Air National Guard, or Illinois Naval Militia.

STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. In order to comply with the laws governing the GI Bill, it is your responsibility as a student to notify the Veteran Affairs Office of your status with the college.
  2. It is imperative that you complete a Request for Veterans Benefits form to receive GI Bill money.
  3. You must inform the Veteran Affairs Office when you:  add or drop a class, change your major, change your address, withdraw from the college, receive an "I" (Incomplete) grade, or take an independent study.
  4. If you do not make satisfactory GPA progress and are suspended by the Veteran Affaris Office, your GI Bill benefits cannot be resumed until you have met the LLCC Veteran Affairs requirements for reinstatement.
