The Lincoln Land Community College Green Center is sponsoring the 2012 Green Fair on Wednesday, Oct. 24 in recognition of National Campus Sustainability Day. The free event is being held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the A Lincoln Commons on the LLCC campus, 5250 Shepherd Road, Springfield. The public is invited.
The event will feature exhibits, food samples, mini “green” workshops and giveaways. Guests can see solar panel displays, an energy bike demonstrating energy usage, artwork created by Lincoln Land students using recycling materials and more.
In celebration of Food Day (a national celebration to push for healthy, affordable food produced in a sustainable, humane way), the Green Fair will include a special section devoted to groups and organizations associated with local food and sustainable agriculture. Food tastings will be available.
