Farm to School connects schools (K-12) and local farms with the objectives of serving healthy meals in school cafeterias, improving student nutrition, providing agriculture, health and nutrition education opportunities, and supporting local and regional farmers. Administrators, teachers, parents, food service professionals and school board members are invited to attend the first Sangamon Area Farm to School Summit. Learn how to source locally produced food; start a school garden; incorporate food and nutrition into curriculum and how to implement a farm to school program in your school. The Summit is presented by the Springfield Area Local Food Task Force.
