Admission to Allied Health Programs:

The health career programs are conducted on a limited-enrollment basis. Students must apply specifically for admission to the programs in radiography, occupational therapy assistant, respiratory care, and electroneurodiagnostic technology. Admission to those programs involves additional procedures. Students may obtain complete instructions and forms from the Admissions and Records Office or regional education centers. Chapter 112, Section 103-17, of the Illinois Public Community College Act requires that whenever enrollment in a program must be restricted because of space limitations, a college must give preference to district residents. Consequently, the college will grant admission to the health career programs to district residents only until April 15 of each year. After that day, all applicants will be considered on the basis of the date of completed application, without regard to residence.

General Requirements:
Students wishing to apply for the allied health programs must FIRST complete all prerequisites listed before their application can be considered for admission into the desired health care field. The student in a program which requires a clinical practicum must have proof of a physical examination by a private physician recorded on a form provided by the college. Allied health students may obtain the medical examination form from the appropriate department office. In the event of illness or emergency while a student is in the agency, care will be provided by agency personnel, but the cost must be borne by the student.
