Once admitted into the program, students are required to complete 15 credit hours of Honors course work to finish the program. In order to get credited as successfully completing an Honors course, students must receive a grade of 'C' or higher in a course marked as Honors. Students may also contract a non-honors class with an instructor to give Honors credit.

 

An Honors Student must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 to remain in the Honors Program. Honors Students are also required to take at least one Honors Course per academic year. This can be done by either registering for one of the sections of the Honors Courses offered or by completing an Honors Program Contract. Honors Courses are designated with the section number HH. Students must also attend atleast one Honors Program Student Organization meeting per semester.

An Honors Student can be put on probation for a number of reasons. The most common reason is the cumulative GPA falls below 3.5. Another reason for the student to be put on probation is for not taking an Honors Course during a semester as the students must take one Honors class a year. Honors Students may also be put on probation for not attending an Honors Student meeting (A certain number of meetings per semester are required, this will be discussed during orientation). The student is dropped from the program at the end of the next semester if the condition is not corrected.
