The League for Innovation in the Community College: the League is an international organization dedicated to promoting innovative teaching in the community college.

Sloan Consortium (Sloan-C): The purpose of the Sloan Consortium (Sloan-C) is to help learning organizations continually improve quality, scale, and breadth of their online programs according to their own distinctive missions, so that education will become a part of everyday life, accessible and affordable for anyone, anywhere, at any time, in a wide variety of disciplines. 

Illinois Online Network (ION): ION Seeks to Promote the Effective Use of Networked Information Technologies, to Enhance Traditional Classroom Instruction, and to Build the Foundation for Developing, Delivering, and Supporting Online Education Throughout the World.

Instructional Technology Council: The Instructional Technology Council, ITC, provides leadership, information and resources to expand and enhance distance learning through the effective use of technology.

Publications

The Chronicle of Higher Education: The “Chronicle” is academe’s resource for news and information. The articles focus on the interests of higher education faculty and administrators.

Community College Week: The independent source of in-depth information for and about two-year college faculty, administrators and trustees. Published biweekly, Community College features include analysis of critical academic trends and issues, vital statistics, technology updates and employment opportunities.

Campus Technology: Campus Technology is the only monthly publication focusing exclusively on the use of technology across all areas of higher education.

American Journal of Distance Education: AJDE is the internationally recognized journal of research and scholarship in the field of American distance education.

Instructional Resources

MERLOT: A free and open resource designed primarily for faculty and students of higher education. Links to online learning materials are collected here along with annotations such as peer reviews and assignments.

World Lecture Hall: The World Lecture Hall contains links to pages created by faculty worldwide who are using the Web to deliver class materials. The site contains examples of online course syllabi, assignments, lecture notes, exams, class calendars, multimedia, and textbooks.

Teacher Tube: Teacher Tube provides an online community for sharing instructional videos.

QOCI: Quality Online Course Initiative: ION and the Illinois Virtual Campus have taken the lead to develop a quality online course rubric and evaluation system in the state of Illinois. The goal of this project is to help colleges and universities to improve accountability of their online courses.

 Effective Practices: To help make quality online education accessible and affordable for anyone, anywhere, at any time, the Sloan-C community shares techniques, strategies, and practices in online education that have worked for them.
 
CELT: The Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT) has been established to encourage and support the exceptional teaching and scholarship of the faculty at Lincoln Land Community College through various activities.
