Webinar Workshop Series Information
We will be offering our first Webinar series this semester. The webinar series will be available via a live interactive webcast from the ITDE office. Attendees will participate in live online Blackboard training sessions and be able to ask questions (via a chat function). Participants must register for the webinar offerings listed below due to electronic invitation requirements.

Introduction to Blackboard
This webinar session is intended as an overview of the Blackboard course management system for new users, anyone who needs a refresher, or anyone who has introductory questions about using Blackboard at LLCC. This session will cover the basics of using Blackboard.

Blackboard Beyond the Basics
In this webinar we will walk through the process of creating a Course Menu, adding advanced content, and course customization. Common tasks such as, building a syllabus, determining tool availability, building a glossary, and setting up discussion forums will also be introduced. Course aesthetics and advanced design tips will be presented.

This webinar will provide you with an introduction to the Blackboard Grade Center. The session will include an overview, beginning with the student’s experience using My Grades tool. This webinar will also include an overview of how to navigate the grade center, how to create and manage columns, as well as how to enter and mange grades in the Blackboard Grade Center.

Creating Assignments, Tests, Quizzes, and Surveys in Blackboard
This webinar will focus on the testing and survey functions of Blackboard, as well as assignment manager. Topics to be covered include creating tests and quizzes, options and types of test questions available, and viewing results and test design tips. An overview of the Blackboard assignment manager function will also be presented.

This webinar will provides an introduction to the Blackboard tools used to inform and communicate with students. Participants will learn to use Blackboard tools to keep students informed about course events, send messages, and communicate effectively in both asynchronous and synchronous environments. A specific discussion will also address communicating with students through Blackboard in the event on an emergency.

Designing and Developing your own Webinar
This hands-on workshop will provide an introduction to personal Webinar development for instructional purposes. Using the Vyew online collaboration and conferencing site, participants will register for a free Vyew account, set up their own webinar workspace, invite participants, and give an overview of running your own VYEW webinar. A demonstration of the presentation features, desktop sharing functions, collaboration whiteboard will also be provided. Join us to learn how to connect with your students in a whole new way.

Participants will learn how to use SoftChalk Lesson Builder to easily create engaging interactive lessons for your online course in Blackboard. This workshop will offer an overview of the SoftChalk Lesson Builder software, demonstrate the steps to building a basic lesson, and will show participants how to export a lesson made into Blackboard.
