What is UI 4.3?
UI 4.3 is the latest version of Datatel. It is a web-based software with many improvements and features.
What are the new features of UI 4.3?
- You can resize a window and change the font size without scrolling.
- You can find the form you're looking for by just typing a word instead of searching through each of the forms you have access to.
- The navigation is easier to "get" - it's a lot more intuitive and clear.
- There is "smart" cursor control - when you save from a form your cursor automatically moves to the lookup field.
- You can export to Microsoft Excel from window fields.
- You can print a form by clicking one button.
- Pictures can be viewed for student records. (Feature to be added at a later date.)
Can I navigate the system using mnemonics just like I do with UI 2.3?
Yes, you may continue to navigate through the system in the same structure that is currently used in version 2.3.
Are the forms or work flows different in UI 4.3?
No, the interface is the only change. All existing Colleague forms and processes still function the same.
Can I still use the Datatel 2.3 software installed on my workstation and for how long?
You can still use the existing Datatel 2.3 that is installed on your workstation until the end of March. Effective April 1, 2012
you must use the new Datatel UI 4.3 interface.
