Cynthia Dipert Mrs. Dipert attended Purdue University for 3 1/2 years and later graduated from University of Illinois-Springfield. Continuing her education, she earned a master's degree from Illinois State University. Mrs. Dipert began teaching at LLCC in the fall of 1998. Her area of expertise is developmental reading. In her spare time, Mrs. Dipert enjoys traveling. She has traveled to all fifty states, Europe and South and Central America. Decorating homes is also a passion of Mrs. Dipert. To succeed in school, Ms. Dipert feels it is important to ask questions. Many people will learn from your questions. She feels, too, it is important to laugh and enjoy everyday given to you as they truly are gifts.
Floyd Disney Studying biblical literature and church history, Mr. Disney earned his bachelor's degree from Olivet Nazarene College and his master's degree from Nazarene Theological Seminary. At LLCC, Mr. Disney teaches speech, world religions and humanities. His career at LLCC began in 1996. Mr. Disney serves as interim pastor at Springfield area churches. In his spare time, he likes to spend time with his wife, Kim, and read. Mr. Disney offers this piece of advice to his students: Be willing to work very hard in all of your classes, but learn to balance work with recreation and relationships. And, do not view education as a "right" but as a "privilege" won for us by the founders of our country and those who have given their lives for it.
Cathleen Ferguson Mrs. Ferguson is pursing a master's degree in Nursing from Milliken University. She currently holds a bachelor's degree in Nursing from the University of Evansville. Mrs. Ferguson teaches the nurses assistant (CNA) course and also licensed practical nurse (LPN) courses. Her career with LLCC began in 2005. Mrs. Ferguson enjoys camping, hiking, traveling, and counted cross-stitch. She is also active in her church community and enjoys playing board games with friends and family. Mrs. Ferguson's advice to students is that what you get out of life depends upon what you put into it - this holds true in the classroom as well!
George Freese Dr. Freese holds a doctorate in education. At LLCC, Dr. Freese teaches mathematics courses including the ALEKs sections. In his spare time, he enjoys woodworking in his shop, traveling and playing golf. He is also an avid bridge player. Dr. Freese encourages his students to earn their degree at LLCC and then pursue a four-year degree. He feels degrees are essential when entering the world of work and starting your career.
Mike Hamilton After graduating from Lanphier High School, Mr. Hamilton earned an LLCC certificate in Paramedic, Fire Fighter II, Fire Intstructor I. An adjunct faculty member since 2007, Mr. Hamilton now teaches various fire fighter classes and emergency medical service courses at LLCC. He is also a volunteer for the Rochester Fire Department. Mr. Hamilton advises his students to study and prepare as if your life depended on it.
Mark Harris A certified pipe welder and ComEd-"A" mechanic, Mr. Harris holds an associate degree in science. Mr. Harris teaches Welding courses at LLCC-Taylorville. In addition, he also teaches some non-credit bearning Community Education Workshops. In Mr. Harris' spare time, he enjoys birding, photography, canoeing and volunteering for Boy Scouts. He is also a free mason and a Department of Natural Resources Safety Instructor. In order to succeed in college, Mr. Harris feels you need to study hard, work hard and play hard.
Dan Lesko Mr. Lesko earned his bachelor's degree in English from Valparaiso University and his master's degree in composition and creative writing from University of Northern Colorado. He currently teaches Composition I (COM 111) and Composition II (COM 112) at LLCC-Litchfield and LLCC-Taylorville. Orginally from the Mt. Olive/Staunton areas, Mr. Lesko and his girlfriend, Megan, currently reside in Butler, IL. Leisure activities for Mr. Lesko include reading, writing, creating his own CCG, graphic designing, snowboarding and playing with his dog, Ollie. Mr. Lesko's advice to students: "Do NOT give up. Life is a constant series of challenges. Sometimes it seems overwhelming. Do NOT give up on school."
Ron Schwabe Mr. Schwabe hold a bachelor's degree in social science, a master's degree in sociology and an education administration certification. Mr. Schwabe began teaching at LLCC in 1974 and currently instructs the sociology courses at LLCC-Taylorville. Hunting, fishing and relaxing are activities he enjoys in his spare time. Attend class, prepare and ask questions are the suggestions Mr. Schwabe gives his students to be successful in class.
Amy Stolte Ms. Stolte holds a master's degree in business administration and bachelor's degree in administrative information systems from Eastern Illinois University. Ms. Stolte instructs numerous computer applications and developmental math courses at LLCC. She has been part of the LLCC family since 2004. In her spare time, Ms. Stolte enjoys spending time with her family; husband Matt and children Kohen and Kinley. She also coaches volleyball in the fall at Nokomis High School and works with her small, family owned popcorn business. Student sucess is Ms. Stolte's main goal as an instructor and she always encourages her students to ask for help.
