What is the MCTR Study Skills Center?
The Millennium Center (MCTR) Study Skills Center is an integral part of the Learning Lab and offers many of the same services to students, such as note taking skills, text book reading, applied math skills, time management, organization, personal learning assessments, and study group facilitation with a focus on the applied science/occupational programs (see list of programs below).
Though housed in a different location, the MCTR study skills center is managed by a Study Skills Specialist, a professional staff member who is an expert in college learning strategies. The study skills specialist will work with you to improve your performance in the classroom. During your appointment with the MCTR Study Skills Specialist, you will use your own textbooks and assignments to learn content while also learning appropriate study strategies for your particular courses. The MCTR study skills center also has four computers and a printer available for student use as well as tables and chairs to study individually or in groups.
