Study Skills Specialists are professional staff who are experts in college learning strategies. They will work with you to improve your performance in the classroom. During an appointment with a Specialist, you will use your own textbooks and assignments to learn content while also learning appropriate study strategies for your particular courses.
Study Skills Specialists also give FREE workshops and learning seminars at the beginning of the fall and spring semesters.
Free Online Tutoring Users Workshops
LLCC Learning Lab staff offer training workshops for our online tutoring service called Smarthinking. Both the training and the use of Smarthinking are FREE to all currently enrolled LLCC students.
During the workshop, students will learn how to log on to Smarthinking, become familiar with the tutoring services within Smarthinking, how to use the whiteboard and communicate with an online tutor, as well as answers to the many frequently asked questions about the program. Students will be given a Smarthinking student manual and the opportunity to work live with an online tutor during this workshop.
