Students interested in American Civil War and Civil Rights history are invited to participate in a travel study experience March 10 – 14, 2009 (during Spring Break). Lincoln Land Community College will be sponsoring a 5 day / 4 night tour of locations in Tennessee related to the history of the US Civil War and Civil Rights movement. Stops will include the Civil Rights Museum in Memphis, the Shiloh National Battlefield, the Stones River Battlefield in Murfreesboro, and the Military Branch of the Tennessee State Museum in Nashville. Cost for the excursion will be $300, and will cover transportation, lodging (based on triple occupancy), some meals, and entry fees to historic sites. Participation in the tour is limited to 24 persons, sign-ups and a wait list will be established immediately. Payment of trip cost will be due no later the February 1, 2009.
