Catherine Wittler of Williamsville and Brandon Lewis of Springfield were crowned the Lincoln Land Community College 2017 Homecoming Queen and King between the college’s women’s and men’s homecoming basketball games Feb. 18.
Wittler is president of the Honors Program Student Organization, one of two vice presidents in Phi Theta Kappa academic honor society, vice president of the Student Government Association, and is also involved in Quiz Bowl and the Environmental Club. She is a student worker in the Public Relations and Marketing office.
Lewis is involved in numerous leadership roles at LLCC as well as extensive community service. At LLCC, in addition to representing all students as a student trustee on the college’s governing Board of Trustees, Lewis is president of the Black Student Union, vice president of Student United Way and Ronald McDonald House volunteer, and a student worker in the LLCC Student Life office.
The homecoming court also included Peyton Minder of New Berlin; Taylor Moore of Sherman; Olatayo Ajenifuja, Carrie Darr, Jonathan Davis, Ieshia Deal and Marie Hountondji, all of Springfield.
Students were nominated for the homecoming court by LLCC faculty, staff, and students based on their involvement and their contributions to the college, then selected by a vote of the student body.
Homecoming festivities included numerous campus activities culminating with men’s and women’s basketball games. Homecoming was sponsored by the LLCC Student Life Office, Logger Activities Board, Alumni Services and Athletics Department.
