13 second-year nursing students from Lincoln Land Community College’s Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) program were inducted recently into the Beta Nu Chapter of the Organization for Associate Degree Nursing (OADN) Alpha Delta Nu Honor Society. The students had to maintain stringent academic requirements and complete a capstone community education project to be eligible for membership.
Students were honored at a special ceremony Nov. 8 at the LLCC-Springfield campus arranged by LLCC associate degree nursing professors Dr. Pam Bradley and Mary Goldstein. The students received a certificate, an Alpha Delta Nu Honor Society pin and peach honor cords to wear at commencement.
The fall 2016 inductees are: Amanda Graves, Chatham; Sarai Ayala, Beardstown; Paige Ruyle, Divernon; Jessica King, Jacksonville; Nicole Scott, Taylorville; Jessica Gunawardena, New Berlin; Allison Taylor, Tallula; Chastity Jensen, Mount Olive; Chelsey Garner, White Hall; Abigail Crocker, Brittany McGrath, Paige Davenport and Robert Wankel of Springfield.

The society encourages the pursuit of advance degrees in the profession of nursing as well as continuing education as a lifelong professional responsibility. The society also participates in the recruitment of qualified individuals into the nursing profession.
